About the artists

HEADLINE ACT: COLECTIVA

COLECTIVA explore the spaces between Afro-Latin music and Jazz while reflecting on themes of sisterhood and female empowerment. Crafting thoughtful arrangements rooted in the sonorities of Africa, Latin America and the diaspora, they have birthed a sound affectionately dubbed jazz tropicaliente (hot-tropical-jazz), rich in bold horn lines, jazz harmony and Afro-Latin groove.

Anti-hierarchical in arrangement and structure, COLECTIVA exist as a vessel and a platformin which women instrumentalists come together through their love of and appreciation for Afro-Latin and Jazz genres, composing collaboratively, in the spirit of sisterhood.

DAVID MRAKPOR & FRIENDS

London-based multi-instrumentalist David Mrakpor takes on the role as Keyboardist and leader in tonight’s lineup. Mrakpor can often be seen gigging on various different instruments such as Keyboards, Drums, Bass, Guitar and Vibraphone.

David also leads his own more jazz-oriented trio under his own name and is more widely recognised as one-half of the Jazztronica duo Blue Lab Beats.

Here in this lineup, David will showcase some original music of his and he will also delve into the music of various great artists and bands that influence him.

Mrakpor will be joined by some amazing musicians that play a huge part in making the UK music scene vibrant and exciting.

POPPY DANIELS

Post covid, Poppy Daniels has been roaming the London Jazz scene, performing, writing and collaborating with a variety of artists. Recently, she has began her own musical adventure into sharing her own voice as an individual. Her music shows heavy influence of Latin Jazz, Contemporary and a hip hop style genre.
