About Jazz Lates

Jazz Lates is a series of intimate Jazz events that take place in our wonderful living room. On Friday 6th of March it is with great pleasure that we welcome Filipe Moreno Trio to the living room stage.

About the artist

Born in a family with more than four native musicians, from Chapada Diamantina, Filipe Moreno, born in Salvador-BA, Brazil. His home was always watered by great musicians and quality music. Self-taught, Filipe, starts playing the piano at the age of 5, by ear. Influenced by the extremely musical family, pricing good music and always identifying himself with Brazilian music, at the age of three he gains a massive Pai bass and also starts playing by ear. The musician says it was a gift from God, an auditory sensitivity and a musicality that since the new era was perceived by the family, which today is the history of that time. From the age of 14, he began to work professionally with music, even at a young age, and was aware of what he wanted with his own art. At the age of 18 he moved to São Paulo-SP, always carrying his musical “truth” in his luggage. A truth more than accepted by the musical identity that the artist has in his vein. It manages to open a wide range for Brazilian instrumental music and is already recognized for this in Brazil and in part of the world.
It was released in third place at the national festival of instrumentalists or at the Premio Nabor, in Indaiatuba-SP, with the song “Meu Tabuleiro”, a song with the title and the first album, without which it was performed on a bass solo
On your musical journey, accompany and record some national artists, such as: Margareth Menezes, Nelson Faria, Leila Pinheiro, Armandinho Macêdo, Oswaldinho do Acordeon, Gilson Peranzzetta, Roberto Menescal, among others.
Recognized by the legendary bassist Lee Sklar after a viral video on his social networks, Filipe Moreno has notoriety and begins to dedicate himself to “solo”, ends up having more notoriety and has an interview in the magazine “Bass Player” Brasil, where he tells about his influences, the way he plays and what instruments he uses at the time.
Filipe is also one of the newest endorsers of ” Fodera Guitars ”, one of the greatest legends in the world, Moreno built his instrument with a Fodera to maintain his preferences as an instrumentalist. Finally, he has just released his second bass solo album, this one being completely solo, with nine recorded compositions, being a unique project and considered by listeners of a rich, innovative and precious musical diversity. It is a CD with works of reverence for music, a purer feeling and a different composition of sensations, achieving the main mesmerizing goal of words that are not said: a song.
Currently develops work with “Filipe Moreno Trio” formed by Sam Watts on the piano and Marius Rodrigues on the drums. The trio plays authorial compositions within the language of Brazilian bossa nova and jazz with a broad sound played by a “jazz” trio.
