Jazz Lates is a series of intimate Jazz events that take place in our wonderful living room. On Saturday 23rd October it is with great pleasure that we welcome Almanaque to the living room stage.

About the artist

Almanaque is a powerful musical journey into the depths of Brasilian and African grooves mixed with jazz and improvisation.

The band was formed in 2015 and it has already played several Festivals and clubs around Europe. They regularly play at the Ronnie Scott Club in London where they opened for Ivan Lins, Eumir Deodato and Pee wee Ellis among other artists.

The quartet is led by the guitarist Luca Boscagin who combines the acoustic tone of his nylon strings guitar (typical of the Brasilian tradition) with soundscapes, gritty sounds, delays and harmonisers.

Quentin Collins is one of the leading trumpet players in the Uk, having played in Festivals worldwide with his own quartet and with the bass player/composer Kyle Eastwood.

Matheus Nova and Raphael Delfino are some of the tightest Brazilian rhythm sections around and they provide the beating heart of the groove.

The band will play some original music as well as some tunes by the most influential Brazilian artists such as Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque and the great Tom Jobim.

Secondary act: DJ Richard Fallon

Best known as one of the UK’s leading specialist Cuban DJs, Rich was raised on a healthy diet of roots reggae, jazz and funky music. So it’s a real joy for him to play it out.

Rich has long-standing residencies at the UK’s largest Latin monthly, El Grande at Scala and Viva Cuba at Ronnie Scott’s. He has supported every major Cuban band to play in the UK and hosts the Non-Stop Cuban Road Block on oursalsasoul.com from 6-8pm every Tuesday.
