Mark Kavuma - Jazz Lates @ Ninety One

Jazz Lates is a series of events that take place in the ‘living room’ of the Old Truman Brewery, at Ninety One. An intimate weekly jazz club in the heart of east London.

On the 24th of November, we are proud to present Mark Kavuma.

Mark Kavuma is a prominent young Trumpet player. Having been born and partly raised in Uganda, Kavuma now finds himself at the centre of the British jazz scene. An alumnus of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, he plays with Jean Toussaint’s Young Lions, Jazz Jamaica, Nu Civilisation Orchestra and is one of the brass leaders at London-based carnival band Kinetika Bloco.

Kavuma’s music is original contemporary jazz with historical roots planted deep in American post-bop, blues and African rhythms.

He says; “Music is powerful and knowing that power I see it as my duty to elevate, inspire and spread positivity, love and joy through my music”.
