About the artist

Will Rees-Jones is an aspiring new Saxophonist/Composer on the London jazz scene combining a deep understanding of jazz as well as influences from folk, funk and electronic music. Currently studying at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Will is tutored by Iain Ballamy, Mark Lockheart and Gareth Lockrane and released his debut EP “Waypoint” in May of 2021.

What started out as a collaborative lockdown project to make any kind of music to keep sane has turned into a full band incorporating singers, strings as well as a jazz sextet being the beating heart of the group. Drawing on influences from Julian Lage, Peter Knight, Joe Lovano and Phony Ppl, “Will Rees-Jones + Friends” is a band that does not shy away from experimentation but is firmly grounded in the jazz tradition, creating a warm, lush sound that grooves like hell.
