One of the most curious and respected selectors in the UK, Tina Edwards joins the dots between jazz and club culture and we’re thrilled to announce her as a guest curator here at Ninety One this Autumn!

Join us for a series of intimate live shows and very special B2B DJ sets, taking place over three months. Headline performances by Cityscape Ensemble, Caleb Kunle and Stella Talpo are paired with B2B sets from Tina Edwards and guest DJs Marlon George, Lena C and Lev.

On Saturday 25th November, we welcome the soulful Caleb Kunle to our living room stage, followed by Tina and selector Marlon George on the 1#s and 2’s.

One of the most curious and respected selectors in the U.K., Tina Edwards joins the dots between Jazz and club culture. Whether it’s modern jazz dance floor burners, unearthed and obscure 90s acid jazz or afro-driven rhythms from across the world, Tina’s sets are as much an introduction to incredible lesser-heard music as much as they are a celebration of the current UK Jazz explosion.

Much like pioneers of the 90s jazz resurgence, Tina is a tastemaker who is breaking artists and bringing jazz to a whole new club-orientated audience.

Caleb Kunle is soul music in its purest form for the modern era. Drawing inspiration from the three places he calls home – Lagos (Nigeria), Laois (Ireland), & London (UK) – the folk & soul at the core of his music are the stories & emotions formed through his exploration of the modern world. His infectious live shows fizz with energy and his supporters to date include NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Nicholas Daley, Dazed & more. Think Michael Kiwanuka meets Lee Fields and you’re dreaming the right dream.

“Drawing inspiration from the three cities I call home, Lagos, Laois and London. The trio guide my exploration of balance and duality, self-love, and the complexity of romance in the modern world. My exploration sounds like Soul, Folk, Jazz and something beyond.

ABOUT MARLON GEORGE

Marlon is a rising DJ and producer living in London. In 2022, DJ Mag tipped him as one to watch, describing his tracks as slightly spacey, casually jazzy and fully groovy house music.

As a DJ, Marlon’s excellent energy and love for vinyl has seen him spin in some of London’s most coveted venues, including becoming the first resident at the newly renovated Cross. Other notable sets have been at fabric, 93 Feet East, Brick Lane Jazz Festival, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM and Number 90 in Hackney Wick. Marlon also played his first gigs abroad last summer in Ibiza and Hungary.
