About the artist

Chez Tito turns his environments into immersive live grooves to make your body move like butter. They’re smart like jazz while being hard like Detroit house. It’s a rolling set of live off-kilter drums, provocative jazzy synths and soul shaking bass. Based in North London but modelled on the world. Bulgarian-Peruvian by blood, and he grew up living between Sofia, London, Antananarivo, Jakarta and Dakar. He grew up on melancholic Latin Boleros and jazz jam sessions, taking the Sofia jazz scene by storm.

His world turned upside down when he moved to London in 2014 and discovered House music, learning how to move all night long. Seeing cats like Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Byron The Aquarius, Kamaal Williams, Max Graef all live gave him a love for dance. Movement is what it’s all about. Get comfortable with your environment, and mould to the people around you. Our body’s intuition… being in the moment, it’s so human… All of his music is inspired by that. He turns his surroundings into feelings through groove, letting you move to them all night…

His debut single “Dorsia Club”, part of his upcoming album (late 2022) plants a flag in his identity. He recorded it in his childhood bedroom in a DIY drum booth made of mosquito nets and sheep blankets. Jonny Cheung recorded the bass and guitar parts in one take in hotel quarantine in Hong Kong. He brought his love for MPC-made Detroit House grooves, jazz fusion chords and Stereolab-esque production.
