About the EFG London Jazz Festival

The EFG London Jazz Festival is the capital’s biggest pan-city music festival, taking place annually in November, which has long been acclaimed for showcasing a heady mix of talent from around the world. Widely acknowledged for delivering world-class artists and emerging stars, the Festival continues to take jazz to a massive audience, in one of UK’s landmark music events. Following an exceptional edition last year, EFG London Jazz Festival returns with a programme of live performances by an electrifying lineup of global stars, special collaborations, and the finest and freshest music. On Sunday 19th November 2023 it is with great pleasure that we welcome the Ash Walker Experience to the living room stage.

About Ash Walker Experience

Ash Walker is a London-based musician, multi-instrumentalist and DJ, whose music spans a diverse range of genres, such as jazz, blues, soul, funk, reggae, dub, trip hop, acid jazz, and electronica, among others. A dedicated Afro-futurist and man-about-town, Walker pays homage to Notting Hill in his music, which has long been a hub for the multicultural diaspora that has transformed the sound of London.
Walker is now on his fourth album, Astronaut – the second for Night Time Stories – the accomplished follow-up to Aquamarine. The album is the sum total of his influences – and then some. Travelling from Dilla to D’Angelo, João Gilberto to Johnny Clarke, Inflo to K15, deep house to Soul Vibrations, hyper modern to crackly classics, but all with that unmistakeable swing and groove that is a key component in the Walker yard.
The Ash Walker Experience is a radically-inventive concept, creating a multi-sensory live show, encompassing music, visuals, scent & more. This truly unique sound on the London jazz scene is performed by a five piece band consisting of Ash Walker on keys, Mark Cyril on bass, Yazz Ahmed on trumpet, Lord Laville on vocals, Tim Shackman on drums. Accompanied by live hypnotic visuals and fragrances, controlled by Ezra-Lloyd Jackson.
