About the EFG London Jazz Festival

The EFG London Jazz Festival is the capital’s biggest pan-city music festival, taking place annually in November, which has long been acclaimed for showcasing a heady mix of talent from around the world. Widely acknowledged for delivering world-class artists and emerging stars, the Festival continues to take jazz to a massive audience, in one of UK’s landmark music events. Following an exceptional edition last year, EFG London Jazz Festival returns with a programme of live performances by an electrifying lineup of global stars, special collaborations, and the finest and freshest music. On Friday 17th November 2023 it is with great pleasure that we welcome David Mrakpor to the living room stage.

About David Mrakpor

London-based multi-instrumentalist David Mrakpor creates his own all-engrossing world on stage – with a George Benson-esque atmosphere and plenty of riff-groove alchemy. Each incarnation of Mrakpor, from keys to bass to drums showcases his instrumental prowess in a way both impressive and ever-so-cool.
Mrakpor began playing instruments at just three years old before attending Tomorrow’s Warriors and WAC Arts in London where he met Blue Lab Beats co-collaborator NK-OK. The grammy-winning duo, signed to Blue Note, create powerful Jazztronica which moves through a span of sounds from avant-jazz to afro-funk and hip-hop.
In recent years, he’s released a series of singles under the Jazz Re:freshed label, with big name collaborators such as Nubya Garcia & Kojey Radical.
