About the EFG London Jazz Festival

The 27th edition of the renowned EFG London Jazz festival, a city-wide celebration of emerging and legendary jazz talents worldwide, will be taking place from 15th to 24th November. The event has been hailed as one transcending social, geographical and gender barriers, bringing the true jazz essence to more than 70 venues around the capital with 2000+ artists, hundreds of gigs, film screenings and exhibitions. Ninety One Living Room was invited to participate as an official partnering venue this year and will be proudly showcasing some of the most innovative sounds of the contemporary jazz scene, with a series of free events which promise to delight your ears.

Afro-jazz quintet Wajuu will strike up the line-up on Friday 15th, followed by accomplished composer and tenor saxophonist Binker Golding’s band on Saturday 16th, and acclaimed Senegalese kora player Kadialy Kouyate on Sunday 17th.

Week 2 sees our stage graced by heavyweight musical talents including Dele Sosimi, one of the founding fathers of Afrobeat and original Fela Kuti and Egypt 80 band member alongside in-demand, 20-year-old trumpet virtuoso Mark Kavuma the following night. Finally, the curtain will fall with Tamar Osborne’s breathtaking, signature Afro-spiritual jazz, performed by her collective “Collocutor”.
