Thursdays at Ninety One Living Room are presented by Jazz Re:freshed. This Thursday, we are delighted to welcome bassist, vocalist and composer Amy Gadiaga to the Living Room stage.

Amy connects old school jazz singer’s storytelling traditions and modern rhythms inspired by artists such as D’angelo and the Jacksons.

More about the artist

Amy Gadiaga is a bassist, vocalist and composer based in London. Currently a student at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studies double bass, Amy bridges the old school jazz tradition of musicians such as Betty Carter and Wayne Shorter with the modern bops of artists such as D’Angelo and Kimbra.

Amy’s band offers an energetic performance that celebrates art, freedom and black pride. Having already performed at the EFG London Jazz Festival, the Jazz Cafe and several festivals last year, Amy is currently working on her debut EP. An alumni of the Tomorrow’s Warriors umbrella, Amy is now flying solo and has no limits in terms of genres and disciplines practiced and experimented with.
