ABOUT JAZZ2ROCKSTEADY

Building momentum for many years in The Vortex followed by Farrs in Dalston, Heinen brings his host of talented musicians this time round to the Living Room Stage. Bruno leads a trio on the night that will be joined by Tony Kofi, a prolific multi-instrumentalist on the London jazz scene.

Songs by the greats get a sunny spin, with danceable grooves from Duke Ellington to Alton Ellis, Thelonious Monk to Johnny Osbourne and Fats Waller to Ernest Ranglin. The house trio features Bruno Heinen at the keys, Larry Bartley on bass, Winston Clifford at the drums and a rotating special guest front line. Blues, jazz, rocksteady, lovers rock, Latin flavours and reggae dub all get the deep treatment by some of the finest musicians in London.

Bruno will be joined by Tony Kofi. He’s a British Jazz multi-instrumentalist born of Ghanaian parents, a  player of the Alto, Baritone, Soprano, Tenor saxophones and flute. Having ‘cut his teeth’ in the “Jazz Warriors” of the early 90’s, award-winning saxophonist Tony Kofi has gone on to establish himself as a musician, teacher and composer of authority.
