INTRIGUE: Cody Currie (Toy Tonics)

DJ and producer Cody Currie is a leader in the UK Dance-Jazz scene, with his releases on Toy Tonics, Razor N Tape and Shake Records becoming staples of the genre and certified floor fillers.

Currie began making noise with releases in 2016 onwards, but it was in 2019 when he confirmed the great expectations. Starting an innovative collaboration in the studio with jazz pianist Joel Holmes, Cody signed with the famous German record label Toy Tonics and released the EP “New Chapter”, followed by another one, “Metropolis”. Piece by piece, Cody’s sound slowly matured. This let him release another brilliant 4 tracks EP on Toy Tonics featuring the vocalist, Eliza Rose. “Moves” quickly shook the modern musical ecosystem, as the released got featured on Rolling Stones.

Cody released a 4 tracks EP on Dan Shake’s label “Shakes” in July 2021, again with Eliza, reviving the “Flame”. This release again came with big hype, and rightfully so as the records driving dusty drums, bouncing synths and Rose’s infectious vocals combined for a modern jazz-house classic. His debut solo album is planned for early 2022 on Toy Tonics and is met with fierce anticipation.

Cody brings the same hype built around his productions as he does his DJ sets. On the dancefloor, no one resists his old classic gems and energy. Currie has played Funkhause (Berlin), Nitsa (Barcelona), Phonox (London), La belleviloise (Paris) in the last year, and put in iconic performances for Mixmag and HoR. This wealth of experience and energy will grace the Living Room stage on Saturday, November 5th ’til 3am for what’s going to be a very special night!
